Daniela and Michael’s sweet summer wedding at the Woodmark Hotel and Still Spa last August was cool, breezy, and oh-so chic.  Daniela had her heart set on a non-traditional bouquet: a giant grey succulent took center stage in this asymmetrical stunner, accompanied by pale blush spray roses, wispy grasses, nigella pods, and eucalyptus. For the lakeside ceremony, the tent was hung with trailing smilax vines, and an arch featuring blush and cream roses and dahlias framed the happy couple.  More lush greenery graced the aisle, and rose and eucalyptus posies adorned the chairs.  At dinner, the blush dining tables held an assortment of gold candlesticks, bud vases, greenery runners, and succulents in tiny gold terrariums.  And be sure to look at the cutest little crocheted birdies you ever did see on top of that cake!

Mama mia, was this a gorgeous wedding!  Last August, the Flora Nova team had the privilege of working with the ever-fabulous Katy of Vows Wedding and Event Planning to design this fairytale white wedding on the groom’s family’s private estate.  This was a family affair on a grand scale: after an intimate ceremony at the family’s Catholic parish, the guests heads back to the family manse for cocktails by the pool. Check out those floating lily pads in the turquoise water!

After cocktails, the lucky guests strolled through the gardens down to a custom-built tent on the back lawn (constructed by the amazing team at Cort Party Rental) for dinner and dancing.  This family has a love affair with the gardenia and just had to have them, so we obliged:  500 fresh cut gardenias were flown in for the occasion.  As you can imagine, the scent when guests walked into the tent was heavenly! Each place setting was graced with a stemmed gardenia, and more gardenias were tucked into the abundant floral arrangements that lined the long dinner tables.

As the evening wore on, Andy, Melissa, and their attendants had the perfect view of the festivities from their 32′ head table loaded with flowers and fully framed by a lush floral backdrop.  Dense greenery swags graced the ceiling and called attention to the drool-worthy (and enormous!) crystal chandeliers.  Tall taper candles and glittering gold mercury glass votives created a romantic glow as the sun set, and the revelers danced long into the night.  What a perfect day!

Last winter the Flora Nova team had the privilege to partner with the fabulous Amber of A Renee Weddings & Events to create a truly one-of-a-kind celebration for a lovely couple at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel.  Danny and Mara chose a purple and gold color scheme as a nod to Danny’s four years playing football with the University of Washington Huskies (Danny has since gone on to play with the Cleveland Browns and now with the New England Patriots). After an elegant ceremony in the silk-draped ballroom, the couple’s friends and family enjoyed a candlelit dinner and danced the night away — check out the pictures of the traditional Samoan dances below!

A hearty congratulations to the happy couple and a very sweet and happy one year anniversary!!!!

Sarah and Toby’s elegant white wedding at Seattle’s  Rainier Club last January was a warm, sophisticated, and downright gorgeous event.  The couple chose to keep their florals and decor neutral, layering shades of white and cream accented with a touch of greenery and mixed metals.  Sarah’s classic rose and peony bouquet was the perfect understated accompaniment to the clean lines of her gown, and just look at those white sequined cocktail dresses on those bridesmaids!

After a touching ceremony beneath an arch draped in dupioni silk, the couple and their guests climbed the candlelit staircase to the glittering ballroom for dinner and dancing. Sarah and Toby chose a mix of centerpieces for their tables:  lush elevated floral arrangements on silver stands drew the guests’ eyes upward, while a trio of clean glass mono-botanical arrangements partnered with a trio of elevated floating candles let their eyes linger on the table tops. Certainly it was a night to remember!

Katie and Sully are a seriously cool and unique couple. They didn’t want anything classic or romantic for their wedding celebration. In addition to the wedding, they planned days of events and theme parties leading up to the ceremony. It was such a joy to create and design for these two (in fabulous collaboration with Katie from Wonderstruck), we were certainly very inspired. With one of a kind ideas like the ‘tunnel of love’ head table to the hidden space themed bar complete with old video games to entertain the guests, which they revealed later in the evening, this is still an event that is remembered and talked about.

Last Spring we had the opportunity to design two dinner parties for one of our fabulous corporate clients — and what fantastic dinner parties they were.  Both events were held at the always beautiful DeLille Cellars and each utilized the space in a slightly different way.

The first event, held in cold and rainy March, featured an enclosed tent adjacent to the main dining room that we decked out with cozy seating areas, glowing chandeliers, and draped greenery. The 60 guests were treated to whiskey tasting and hors d’oeuvres in the tent before being ushered into the candlelit dining room for dinner. At dinner, two long kings tables set an elegant tone and ombre floral arrangements lined the long tables. And, of course, a roaring fire in the huge stone fireplace chased away any last spring chill.

The second event was a more intimate affair held in June for 16 guests. This time the dining room at DeLille Cellars was transformed into a bright spring paradise, with greenery hanging form the chandeliers and separate spaces for lounging, mingling, and dining.  Bright blue linens and warm yellow and orange floral brought late spring warmth to the room, while an abundance of candlelight softened the atmosphere as dusk fell and the guests lingered at dinner.
